Freshmen Residency Requirement (FRR)

UNM requires all first-time undergraduate students (not qualified for an exception) to live on UNM main campus for their first academic year.

Who is required to live on campus?

All first-time freshmen undergraduate students, enrolled full-time, who are younger than 20 years of age by the first day of classes and live further than 30 miles from UNM’s main campus are required to live on campus.
